Overview Of The Safari

Nairobi National Park, located just 7 km from Nairobi’s city center, offers a unique safari experience. This half day itinerary allows visitors to explore Kenya’s oldest National Park with it’s incredible wildlife and scenic landscapes.

 Half-Day Trip To Nairobi National Park

Pick -Up

At 0730hrs, your safari begins with a convenient pick up at CBD and meet your professional driver-guide who will brief you about the safari and what to expect during the game drive. Enjoy a short, scenic drive to Nairobi National Park, arriving at the main entrance gate.

Game Drive Begins

At 0800hrs, after clearing entry formalities, embark on a thrilling 3-hour game drive through the park. Your driver/guide will navigate you through different ecosystems within the park, including savannah plains, acacia woodlands, riverine areas and scattered bushlands.

Key Highlights of the Game Drive

  1. Wildlife Viewing
    • Look out for iconic animals such as buffalo, zebras, giraffes, impalas, warthogs, and gazelles grazing on the open savannah.
    • Spot the endangered black and white rhinos – a major highlight of Nairobi National Park
    • With a little luck, you may catch a glimpse of predators such as lions, cheetahs, or leopards, particularly during the morning hours when they are more active.
  2. Bird Watching
    • The park is home to over 400 bird species, including secretary birds, ostriches, herons and eagles. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy spotting a variety of species throughout the drive.
  3. Scenic Backdrop of the Nairobi Skyline
    • One of the park’s most unique features is the breathtaking juxtaposition of wildlife against the Nairobi City Skyline. This offers a rare photo opportunity.
  4. Hippo Pools and River Trail
    • Visit the riverine area where hippos and crocodiles may be seen basking along the banks. Your guide guide will provide fascinating insights into their habits and ecosystems
  5. Ivory Burning Site
    • Make a quick stop at the historical Ivory Burning Monument, a site symbolizing Kenya’s strong stance against poaching.

End of Game Drive

At 1100hrs, after an unforgettable safari experience, exit the park and begin the short drive to Nairobi. Drop off at your hotel, airport or preferred location, marking the end of your half-day adventure.

  • This is a join-in Safari, so individual participants sign up and are picked in a common safari vehicle and are taken on the tour. For a private safari, please contact us.
