ITINERARY
Day 1; Nairobi to Maasai Mara
0600hrs – Depart from Nairobi and begin your journey early to maximize your time in Maasai Mara. As you drive through the stunning Great Rift Valley, enjoy panoramic views and watch for local wildlife along the roadside.
0830hrs – Stop at a scenic Viewpoint and take a brief break at the viewpoint overlooking the valley. Capture photos and stretch your legs while enjoying the breathtaking landscape.
1000hrs – Arrive in Maasai Mara where the vast savannah stretches before you, teeming with wildlife.Check in at your lodge at 1230hrs and settle into your lodge, where you will have a chance to refresh and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
1300hrs – Enjoy a hearty buffet lunch overlooking the savannah.
1500hrs – Proceed for an afternoon game drive. Your first taste of the Mara’s abundant wildlife. Look for elephants cooling off in mud pools, giraffes browsing treetops, and the elusive leopards resting in acacia branches. Your guide will share fascinating insights about animal behaviour.
1800hrs – Drive back as the sun dips over the plains, often painting the sky in brilliant hues.
1900hrs – Enjoy dinner served under the stars and relax around the campfire or in the dining area. Afterwards, overnight at the lodge or tented camp in Maasai Mara.
Day 2; Full Day in Maasai Mara
0600hrs – Rise early to experience the magic of the Mara at dawn. Witness the awakening wildlife, with predators often spotted before the day sets in. Look for prides of lions returning from night hunt, cheetahs scanning the grasslands, and hyenas skulking back to their dens. Marvel at herds of wildebeest and gazelles grazing in the dawn light.
0830hrs – Either enjoy a bush breakfast picnic or return to your lodge for a warm meal.
1030hrs – Rest and relax at the lodge or set out to visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about their way of life. Engage with the community, explore traditional homes, and a dance performance.
1300hrs – Return to the lodge for lunch.
1400hrs – Head out for another game drive in the afternoon, focusing on different areas of the reserve. Visit the Mara River, famous for crocodiles and hippos. During migration months, watch dramatic river crossings as thousands of wildebeest plunge into the water. Spot elephants, buffalo, and maybe rhino completing your Big Five sightings.
1800hrs – (Optional) Enjoy a drink at a scenic viewpoint while watching the sunset.
1900hrs – Return to the lodge for dinner. Freshen up and share stories of the day over dinner. Afterwards, overnight at the lodge or tented camp in Maasai Mara
Day 3; Maasai Mara to Nairobi
0600hrs – Depart for your final morning game drive to soak in the beauty of the Mara. One last chance to capture the Mara’s wildlife in the morning light. Early drives offer dramatic photography opportunities.
0800hrs – Return back to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast, savoring the last views of the landscape.
0900hrs – Check out at the lodge and settle any extras. Begin your drive back to Nairobi with scenic drive across Maasai land and Rift Valley.
1230hrs – Stop for lunch enroute and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey.
1600hrs – Arrive in Nairobi and drop off at residence or hotel. Marking the end of your safari.
